As we had intended, our music video would begin with establishing shots of recognisable London monuments and places. Although we had gone out to film them, when we begun the editing process we realised these were not sufficient and also found it confusing that out video would begin with establishing shots filmed at night.
We have now decided that the video will still begin with slow motion establishing shots, but will be filmed again. The video will begin with a slow motion pan of the London Eye, then a slow motion pan past the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben and will then end with a shot of a bridge covered in graffiti that we found in Shoreditch. We feel these shots replicate the mood and feeling that videos from the UK Rap genre present and therefore will try to include them in a way that will effectively allow the audience to feel engaged.
This is an example of images of London being used to establish a location in videos of the same genre. As this video, Wstrn - IN2 remix, is by a group that is prominent in west London, they have included shots of the skyline of a recognisable West London estate.
As we want our video to relate to youths all over London, we will emulate this idea by using images of recognisable places in London.
Krept & Konan - Don't Waste My Time establishing shots
Tion Wayne - Bae establishing shots
