Our rough cut feedback:
- The shots on the millennium bridge were quite dark and you couldn't see the artists faces very well so we were told to try and re-film them.
- To edit our green screen base tracks
This was the only constructive criticism that we received which was quite receiving but also a bit disheartening because it (re-filming) was a large task to do. However as a group we did not have time to re shoot the base tracks so we instead cut and only used parts of the base tracks that were efficiently lit. The majority of our feedback was very positive and our class really liked the rough cut so far and was excited to see the end result.
What the class liked:
- Samuel and I's lip-syncing
- the choice of locations
- the colours
- the song
My feedback of the rough cut was that we needed to get more establishing shots to set a tone of where the music video is set. I then took it upon myself to go to the millennium bridge and shoot some establishing shots in the evening using my Canon 600D camera.
Once I showed my group the shots that I had taken using my camera they really liked them and attempted to incorporate them into the music video. Unfortunately, once put into Premier the shot frames did not match with all the clips that we already had used when using the college camera. To overcome this, we looked back through all the shots that we already had and used the ones that we thought could work (such as the opening shot of the pan of the London Eye).
